Janice and Robin are two of the founding members of Social Media Club Niagara who’s motto is “If you get it, Share it!” SMC Niagara meets monthly around Niagara to discuss, learn and, most importantly, share experiences and knowledge about social media. In the two years since they started the club it has grown to 1,000 followers on Twitter, 250 fans on Facebook and more than 200 members on Linkedin.
Janice is a former radio journalist who has worked in corporate communications for Ontario Hydro and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. She has taught New Media at the International Academy of Design in Toronto and at Niagara College. Janice won the Canadian Mental Health Consumer Volunteer award for her work on the national organization’s website and is a former member of the board of directors of CMHA Niagara. Robin’s focus is on analyzing, researching and studying the world of social media and its impact on the world around us. She is always looking at new social tools and how they can be applied to different situations and clients. Robin is currently the Co-Chair of the City of St. Catharines Heritage Committee, a member of the St. Catharines Downtown Development Revitalization Committee and on the board of Niagara Timeraisers.
